Attack by the monkeys! The mighty mighty monkeys!

amy and I were sitting on our balcony, peacefully reading, when two monkeys the size of seven year old children jumped onto our balcony and proceded to run after us.  one grabbed amy.  we both got off the balcony before any real damage occurred, but one grabbed amy's book and proceded to tear it apart slowly while we watched from the safety of inside.  we found pages of the book all over varanasi on our way to breakfast.

An exciting first few days....

Well, we've been here for a few days, and it is hot. And it's hard to get around. We started in Kerala, and then from there we went to Varanasi. Our time there consisted mostly of chai drinking, elephant riding (all the taxis are elephants), and yoga. And curry, lots of curry. And some garlic naan (which, not surprisingly, is better than the naan at Trader Joe's). From there, we tried to figure out how to get to Rishikesh -- it was quite a journey.

That's about it from here. We're in the market for a yoga retreat, so if anyone knows a good one in Southern India, let us know in the comments section.

Check the picture of Amy in tree pose at this great area just outside town....so beautiful!
